Wednesday , 03 May 2006(Emre Ozkan-JTW/Ankara) - The European Union broke off talks on closer ties with Serbia on Wednesday, May 3rd, over its failure to arrest and transfer fugitive genocide suspect Ratko Mladic to the U.N. war crimes tribunal. According to BBC News, EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn said he was disappointed Belgrade had not detained Mr Mladic. The deadline set by the EU expired on Sunday.
